Longfield Hall is a Grade II listed Victorian music hall, part of a cluster of public and community buildings which includes the nearby Minet Library. In the 1970s it was home to Britain’s first publicly-funded Black Theatre company, the Dark & Light Theatre Club.
The building provides flexible space for performance and activities such as church meetings, art groups and exercise classes, and is used by a wide range of local community groups including a dance school and a pre-school.
We have worked with the Longfield Hall Trust to maintain and improve the building for future generations. A programme of repair and additions includes a new accessible public entrance, a lift, and an extension providing a new garden room.
